Interview with Heike Strauch about magnesium oil
MG Life
Ms. Strauch, which people actually go to an alternative practitioner?
Heike Strauch
People of all ages come to my practice with various, often chronic, complaints because they are looking for additional or alternative solutions in naturopathy. Some symptoms do not receive sufficient attention in conventional medicine, do not seem to be explainable or are considered to be untreatable. This of course increases the level of suffering and people feel that they are not being taken seriously. At the same time, people find their way to me who, according to well-known criteria, “eat healthily” and “live healthily” for a long time, but who are nevertheless burdened with health problems.

What is your particular expertise?
Heike Strauch
Every person is an individual “total work of art” and the necessary measures are just as individual. The search for the causes of the complaints is the basis of my practice. B. Heavy metals & toxins, bacterial or viral loads, fungi or bioenergetic loads are systematically reduced, identified deficiencies in the required vital substances are replenished in a targeted manner and the body is returned to its natural self-regulation with coordinated measures. The key points are mitochondrial therapy, hormone and metabolic regulation or acupuncture without needles.

Let's come to a very important mineral - magnesium. Why is it so important for us humans and does it have this meaning?
Heike Strauch
Magnesium is an essential mineral for all processes in our organism.
It is a prerequisite for our performance – practically nothing works without magnesium!
Magnesium is both a "power mineral" and the mineral of "inner peace".
Most people are already aware of the relaxing effect on muscles and nerves, the positive effect on the heart and circulatory system or the importance for our bones and teeth.
If you now think of the decisive role of magnesium in our cell and energy metabolism, or look at the balancing effect on our vegetative nervous system, it quickly becomes apparent how indispensable magnesium is in our day and age, characterized by permanent stress, tiredness and exhaustion up to burnout. is. Among other things, it makes people more adaptable to stress reactions. The release of hormones and messenger substances in our organism also depends on magnesium. The effect on the fat, carbohydrate and protein metabolism makes it very interesting for all problems related to the metabolic syndrome (obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high blood lipid levels) and for the formation of our DNA. It quickly becomes clear why a lack of this important mineral results in various impairments.
MG Life
You are able to measure the magnesium level in your practice. How does this work and doesn't the normal blood count, which is created in the laboratory by the family doctor, also give this value?
Heike Strauch
Along with potassium, magnesium is the most important mineral in the intracellular space. It is therefore mainly located within the cells in the tissue and bones. Only about 1% of the available magnesium can be found in the body fluids including blood plasma. This explains the problem of detection via the blood count. Unfortunately, there is no information about how much magnesium is actually present intracellularly in the body. It can also provide a false positive result because the body mobilizes minerals from the depots into the blood to maintain the blood pH value.
In my practice, I use two methods of intracellular measurement:
1. With the TRIKOMBIN – this is bioresonance at the highest level – testing and therapy in the intracellular space is possible for the first time thanks to the extended frequency spectrum. In this way, the situation in the intracellular space can be recorded as part of mitochondrial therapy without an expensive laboratory. Magnesium is a key mineral for mitochondrial activity and the need to improve their function is identified.
2. With the OligoScan, the 20 most important minerals and trace elements (including magnesium) as well as 14 toxic metals are measured directly in the tissue at the cell level using spectrophotometry. The measurement is completely painless and only takes about 2 minutes. On this basis, therapeutic measures can be initiated immediately.

How widespread is magnesium deficiency - how does it arise?
Heike Strauch
Unfortunately, magnesium deficiency affects almost everyone and is exacerbated by the following 3 points:
1. Increasing need for magnesium due to increased consumption as a result of stress, medication, illness, sporting activities, soft drinks and alcohol...
2. Impairments in absorption - Disorders in the gastrointestinal tract are widespread, such as leaky gut, missing enzymes or too little gastric acid...
3. Our foods (fruit, vegetables, industrially processed food) contain fewer and fewer vital substances than years ago
MG Life
What recommendation can you give to eliminate the magnesium deficiency?
Heike Strauch
There are basically three ways in which we can absorb magnesium:
1. Oral - through food as well as dietary supplements
2. Transdermal - through the skin - as a spray for spraying on or wellness flakes for baths
3. Infusion/Injection
I particularly recommend the combination of transdermal application and oral intake in smaller doses, preferably distributed throughout the day.
The quickest way to remedy a deficiency is through transdermal application, since magnesium is very well absorbed through the skin. This is shown, for example, by studies by the American doctor Norman Shealy. The transdermal application is carried out by spraying magnesium fluid on different parts of the skin, an ascending foot bath or a relaxing full bath with the wellness bath flakes.
For a variety of reasons, it takes a long time to eliminate a deficiency simply by taking it orally. In addition, with higher dosages there is a risk of diarrhea.
In the case of very severe deficiencies - as in emergency medicine - magnesium is given by infusion. However, this is not practicable for daily use and use at home.
MG Life
Can magnesium, like vitamin D 3, be stored in the body?
Heike Strauch
Unfortunately, unlike vitamin D or calcium, magnesium cannot be stored in advance. We are therefore dependent on a daily intake of this important mineral.
